Ibrahim Hassan Addow

Ibrahim Hassan Addow (also: Addou , Somali Ibraahim Xasan Caddoow ) (* in the 20th century ; † December 3, 2009 in Mogadishu ) was a Somali politician and minister for higher education.

Addow was a US citizen , lived in the US, and worked in the administrative department at American University in Washington, DC before returning to Somalia in 1999. As a moderate Islamist, he became head of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Union of Islamic Courts . He was the dean of Benadir University in Mogadishu.

Addow died in a suicide attack in Mogadishu during a medical college graduation ceremony in a hotel ballroom with Mohamed Abdullahi Waayel and Qamar Aden Ali .
