Ichthyofauna

As Ichthyofauna derived from gr. Ἰχθύς (ichthys) for fish, the totality is all fish species called a region. The first known use of the term dates from 1883.

In addition to the ichthyofauna, other animal groups in a region can also be recorded. named as avifauna ( birds ), entomofauna ( insects ) or herpetofauna ( reptiles / amphibians ).
