Ida Schillen

Ida Schillen (born April 22, 1956 in Trier ) is a German politician of the Die Linke party .

Life

In 1976 Schillen graduated from high school. This was followed by a degree in urban and regional planning, which she graduated as Dipl.-Ing. completed. Today she lives in Rostock in a registered partnership.

politics

In 1989 Ida Schillen became personal advisor to the Berlin Senator for Youth, Family and Women, Anne Klein ; In 1990 she joined Alliance 90 / The Greens . From 1995 to 1999 she was a member of the Berlin House of Representatives . After the Greens approved the Kosovo war , she left the party and founded the Democratic Left in 1999 with other MPs . She has been a member of Die Linke since 2005, of which she was a member from 2008 to 2014. From 2001 to 2008 she was Senator for Culture, School and Sport in Rostock. Among the state elections in 2011 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern she appeared as a direct candidate in the constituency Rostock II on. However, it was defeated by the SPD candidate, Rainer Albrecht .

Schillen is the managing director of the supporting association of the stand up collection movement.
