Ida von Igo , actually Ida Günther Edle von Ollenburg ( February 18, 1864 in Vienna - November 6, 1930 in Zurich ) was an Austrian opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Igo, daughter of a kk Austrian section council, took singing lessons from Professor Reß in Vienna and performed as a singer in Vienna from 1881. From 1895 she was at the Stadttheater in Troppau, then came to Nuremberg, where she stayed for two years, then to Zurich and from there to the Court Theater in Coburg, where she made her debut on May 3, 1900 as “Zerlina” in “Fra Diavolo”. This talented coloratura opera soubrette had an extremely sympathetic voice, whose natural sound is all the more pleasant thanks to excellent technology. Igo was always involved, developed a lot of humor and, above all, was characterized by great grace. Her vocal performances were as gratifying as her acting. In 1902 the artist left the stage.

Her daughter from her first marriage to Captain Paul Kempner was the singer Maria Ivogün (1891–1987). In her second marriage she was married to the director of Zurich Insurance, Fritz Meyer.
