The Iden Group is a wholesale, system and logistics service company in the range of stationery, school, toys and seasonal products. In addition to the headquarters in Berlin, the Iden Group has locations in Golßen , Leipzig , Nuremberg and Hamburg .

history

In 1890 Edmund Iden settled in Berlin as a druggist . At the turn of the century, he started selling Christmas tree decorations. Together with his wife Bertha, he founded a company for the production of Christmas decorations in 1901.

In 1936 Ernst Iden, son of the company founder, took over the management and expanded the range to include carnival items, Easter decorations and fireworks. After Hans Iden took over management in 1953, the range was expanded to include paper and hygiene items.

In addition to the Iden wholesale house, the headquarters in the south of Berlin, a second location was created in the north of Berlin through the acquisition of a stationery and toy wholesaler in 1982. Hans Jörg Iden, son of Hans Iden, was appointed co-managing director.

When the Wall came down in 1989, a branch was established in Anklam (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) and a logistics center in Golßen (Brandenburg). In 1996, another branch of the wholesale company opened in Leipzig . The company has had locations in Hamburg and Nuremberg since 1997 and 2001 respectively . In 2010, the two Berlin companies were merged in a headquarters at Berlin Südkreuz train station .

In 2016 the Iden Group opened its significantly expanded logistics by 10,000 square meters at the Golßen location. The logistics performance could be significantly expanded through optimized storage technology and modern IT equipment for all storage and logistics processes.

Companies

In 2016 the Iden Group operates a logistics center in Brandenburg ( Golßen ) as well as locations in Leipzig , Nuremberg and Hamburg in addition to its headquarters in Berlin . Distribution takes place via stationary pick-up wholesale markets, the delivery wholesalers and a web shop for specialist retailers.

The overall range includes around 70,000 items in the areas of paper, office and stationery as well as school and creative items, toys, seasonal and fixed items. In addition to branded products, the Iden Group sells its own trademark, Idena. The Idena range includes around 1,400 items from the office, school, creative, toys and seasonal sectors. The Iden Group is gradually converting its range to FSC -certified products from sustainable timber management. The company supports the BSCI initiative, which is committed to upholding human rights in the production and supply chain.
