If I Rise is a song composed by AR Rahman for the 2010 film 127 Hours with lyrics by Dido . Dido and Rahman sing the song. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Movie Song in 2011 .

Otherwise the song was published digitally for download . Dido recorded If I Rise in their 2013 album Greatest Hits as the 17th track.

Nekesa Mumbi Moody noticed that Dido sang understandable phrases, but filled the song with sounds. Dido himself said that the song should have the calming effect of a lullaby . She closed her eyes while singing and imagined the performer's feelings in the situation. Daniel Schweiger judges that the song conveys a delicately touching optimism that life goes on.
