Ignazio Donati

Ignazio Donati (* around 1570 in Casalmaggiore near Cremona ; † January 21, 1638 in Milan ) was an Italian organist , conductor and composer .

His first professional position was the position of cathedral organist in Pesaro , after which he worked in various places as Kapellmeister and finally ended his career in Milan, where he held the position of cathedral music director from 1631 until his death.

He created mainly sacred music, including one and polyphonic motets and several masses . His musical work was highly regarded by his contemporaries.
