Igor Yaroslavich

Igor Jaroslawitsch ( Russian Игорь Ярославич ; * 1034/1036; † 1060 ) was Prince of Volhynia (1054-1057) and Prince of Smolensk (1057-1060). He was a son of Yaroslav the Wise and his wife Ingegerd .

Life

His year of birth has not been recorded, either 1034/35 or 1036.

In 1054 he became Prince of Volhynia after the death of his father. In 1057 he became Prince of Smolensk after the death of his brother Vyacheslav. He died in 1060. He was buried in the Chernihiv Cathedral.

The name of a wife is not known, it was probably not Kunigunde von Orlamünde.

Igor had (at least) two sons

  • Dawid , Prince of Tmutarakan (1081–1082), Volhynia (1086–1100) and Busk (1100–1112)
  • Vsevolod
