Igor Vladimirovich Lebedew ( Russian И́горь Влади́мирович Ле́бедев ; born September 27, 1972 in Moscow ) is a Russian politician and member of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR). He is the son of Vladimir Zhirinovsky .

Career

Lebedev is the only son of Vladimir Wolfowitsch Schirinowski and his wife Galina Alexandrovna Lebedewa.

Igor Lebedev graduated from the Moscow State Law Academy in 1996. During his studies he worked as an assistant in the Duma . After completing his studies, he was an advisor to the Minister for Labor and Social Development from 1997 to 1998.

In the Russian parliamentary elections in 1999 Lebedev was elected for the first time as a member of the Duma. As parliamentary group leader of the nationalist-populist-oriented LDPR he was u. a. served on the Information Policy Committee and the Finance and Taxation Committee. In 2003 , 2007 and 2011 Igor Lebedev was re-elected to the Duma.

In September 2012 Lebedev ran for the post of chairman of the Russian Football Association . In the first ballot he received only nine votes and was eliminated immediately. In the context of violent clashes between fans and the police during the 2016 European Football Championship , Lebedev said he saw nothing wrong with fighting fans and that they should continue. He later proposed hooliganism as a regular sport with a "fixed set of rules". Lebedev has a PhD in social sciences and a postdoctoral qualification in history. He is chairman of the youth organization of the LDPR.

Private

Igor Wladimirowitsch Lebedew is married to Lyudmila Nikolajewna Lebedewa (* 1975). The couple have twin sons (Alexander and Sergei) who were born in 1998.
