Igor Petrovich Petrenko ( Russian Игорь Петрович Петренко ; born  August 23, 1977 in Potsdam ) is a Russian actor who was awarded the State Prize of the Russian Federation .

Life

Igor Petrenko was born in Potsdam, where his father served as a colonel in the Soviet Army in the Soviet Army Group in Germany . When Petrenko was three years old, he moved back to Moscow with his family .

In 2000 he finished his acting studies at the Shchepkin Theater School in Moscow and was accepted into the Maly Theater . Since 2001 Petrenko has played in film and television productions. One of his first leading roles is the portrayal of Viktor in The Driver for Vera (2004; Director: Pawel Tschuchrai ).

In 2013 he played the detective Sherlock Holmes in the Russian remake of Arthur Conan Doyle's work .

Private

From 2000 to 2004 Petrenko was married to the actress Irina Leonova (* 1978). On December 31, 2004, Petrenko married the actress Ekaterina Klimowa (* 1978). Their marriage, which resulted in two children, was divorced on July 10, 2014. On September 19, 2016, Petrenko married actress Kristina Brodskaja, with whom he has a daughter.
