Igor Teplyi
Igor Teplyi (born December 12, 1986 in Leningrad ) is a Danish chess player of Russian origin.
Life
Igor Teplyi is a student at Aarhus University . He started playing chess seriously late. He learned the rules at the age of 16 and played his first chess tournament when he was 17. His first Elo rating was only in October 2006, and he played his first tournament outside Denmark in January 2010 in Prague .
successes
He played team chess in the highest Danish league, the Skakligaen , until 2018 for Nordre Skakklub from Aarhus , and since 2018 Teplyi has played for SK 1968 Århus . For the Schachfreunde Schwerin , where Henrik Danielsen also plays, he played in the German Oberliga (3rd division) in the 2011/12 season.
He has held the title of International Master since April 2014 . He achieved the standards for this in the A group of the Copenhagen Cup in October 2012 with his third place behind Henrik Danielsen and Carsten Høi , in the 2012/13 season of the Skakligaen and at the Winterchess Masters on Mallorca in January 2014, where he was behind James Plaskett took second place.
Igor Teplyi's Elo rating is 2413 (as of February 2020), his highest to date was 2448 in February 2017.
