Ilan Shalgi
Ilan Schalgi ( Hebrew אילן שלגי, Born July 13, 1945 in the League of Nations mandate for Palestine ) is an Israeli lawyer, politician and former Knesset member.
biography
Schalgi did his military service in the Israel Defense Forces , where he served as a lieutenant colonel . He studied law at Tel Aviv University .
He was a member of the Tel Aviver District Disciplinary Court and the Israel Bar Association (IBA; Hebrew לשכת עורכי הדין בישראל) From 1986 to 1995.
In July 2004 he was appointed Minister for Science, Culture and Sport in Ariel Sharon's government cabinet. In October 2004 he became Minister of the Environment .
