Ilija Batschvarow
Ilija Batschwarow ( Bulgarian Илия Бъчваров ; born October 10, 1943 in Prague , Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia ) is a former Bulgarian ice hockey player . His brother Marin Batschwarow also took part in ice hockey for Bulgaria at the 1976 Winter Games.
Career
Ilija Batschwarow, who was born in the Czech capital Prague and spent the first 15 years of his life there, took part in the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck for the Bulgarian national team. With his team, he finished twelfth and thus last place. He himself was the captain of the Bulgarian team and was used in six games during the tournament, scoring four goals and one assist. He scored the Bulgarians' only goal at 1:14 against Czechoslovakia.
