Illustrated Motorsport was a magazine in the German Democratic Republic . It appeared from 1953 to 1991.

The magazine's predecessor was a motorsport supplement from 1949 in the Radsport-Express magazine and from 1951 Illustrated Cycling and Motor Racing . From December 1951, the supplement appeared as an independent magazine under the title "Motorsport". In 1953 the name was changed to "Illustrated Motorsport". It was published as a specialist journal for the Motorsport Section, then as an organ of the Presidium of the Motor Racing Section of the German Democratic Republic and from issue 14/1957 as an organ of the (newly founded) General German Motorsport Association (the GDR) ADMV.

The magazine appeared monthly from 12/1951 to 03/1952, from 04/1952 to 1969 fortnightly, after which it was changed to a monthly publication. At the end of 1991, the Illustrierte Motorsport was included in rallye racing magazine .

The magazine contained reports on motor sport events, tables, statistics, vehicle tests, repair tips and an advertising market. The magazine was published by the General German Motorsport Association in Sportverlag Berlin . The "Illustrierte Motorsport" dealt mainly with national motorsport events as well as international races with the participation of drivers from the GDR. The other international races ( Formula 1 , motorcycle world championship, etc.) were described in more detail in the early years, later only briefly noted.
