The Ilmenauer Studentenclub e. V. is the union of the existing four student clubs (bc, BD, bi, BH) and the bc student café at the Technical University of Ilmenau, founded in 1990 .

The first activities of the clubs go back to 1969, since then they have been housed in the basement of four dormitories (the former "Blocks" C, D, H and I - hence the names of the clubs) on campus . The association is non-profit and recognized as an independent youth welfare organization, operates open youth work and tries to be a podium for bands , cabaret and culture in addition to normal club openings . With over 50 concerts a year, the Ilmenauer Studentenclub e. V. the most active concert organizer in the Ilm district . He is a member of the Jugendring Ilm-Kreis e. V. as well as the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Soziokulturelle Centers e. V.

The event profiles of the individual clubs are different, so that the public can be offered a wide range of leisure activities. Joint actions of all clubs such as B. Open airs, children's parties and youth festivals have long been part of the tradition.

The approximately 140 voluntary association members currently offer around 500 events a year. In order to be able to meet the financial potential of young people, almost all events with artists are subsidized by the association. We also try to work closely with other Ilmenau and supraregional institutions and initiatives. a. with various in the KuKo e. V. affiliated associations.
