All the other inhabitants of the valley have forgotten how to wish and dream over time, as they experience perfect dreams and moments of happiness through the "perfect machines". Only the seamstress Anna manages to escape the dreariness by keeping her own dreams and desires deep inside.

Also in the valley lives a giant whose heart's greatest wish is to fly. With a lot of imagination and courage, the seamstress Anna is now doing everything possible to enable the giant to fly.

In addition to the book, a radio play and an app for Android were also published .

The radio play was published by Headroom Verlag and recorded by Martina Gedeck . Directed by Theresia Singer. Most of the (piano) music in the audio book comes from the German composer Frederic Bernard (aka PianoPassion ).

reception

The book as well as the audio book and the app received mostly very positive reviews from the trade press as well as numerous awards and nominations, including a. for the children's book listening award.

Children's book couch wrote about the book:

“In the garden of dandelions” is an atmospheric bedtime story and a fantastically beautiful throwback into time. Even if it seems a little transfigured, the book is full of magic thanks to its fairytale worlds of images!

The children's book award wrote about the audio book :

What the book tells with its expressive pictures is reflected in the finest quality in this small work of art that you can hear. The audio book invites you to close your eyes, to listen to how the gentle narrative voice pushes words behind the rattling of the machines, speaks of people's longing for things lost “in the garden of dandelions”, opens up to small dialogues, while piano melodies create a delicate one Broad soundscape over everything. A wonderful production that uses words, voices, noises and music to paint pictures in your head, which makes you dream and tells full of poetry about the power of desires.

The TOMMI expert jury on the app:

Fly like a dandelion through the valley of the windmills with seamstress Anna. Anna tries to win back dreams where perfect machines take everything away from people and thereby stop dreaming. The wonderful, almost philosophical story is told around a game that can be repeated any number of times. The app is also very safe: there is no questionable content, no advertising and no links leading out of the app. The parents' area is protected by a child safety device.
