The group of houses is located in the western part of Flechtingen, north of Behnsdorfer Straße. A little further south is the Flechtingen Castle .
Architecture and history
The group of houses represents a rural business location and is considered a monument of local and economic history. It is regarded as a historical functional unit preserved in a rare unity.
In addition to the castle mill (Im Grund 4), which is also listed as an individual monument, the ensemble includes a large farm (Im Grund 6), a dairy (Im Grund 10) and a distillery (Im Grund 14). The group of houses also includes the residential building Im Grund 8, which was built in the 1930s and does not correspond to the village style of the surrounding buildings.
The oldest part of the ensemble is the castle mill , which in its core dates back to the Baroque period. A date refers to the year 1695. In 1928 a turbine house was built. The farm was built in the first half of the 19th century and is one of the few largely completely preserved farms from this time in Flechtingen. The house at Im Grund 8 is coordinated with this. The dairy and distillery were built as simple brick buildings in the late 19th century.
