Image & Form International Aktiebolag is a Swedish video game developer based in Gothenburg . Founded in 1997 by Brjánn Sigurgeirsson, the company started developing educational software and switched to video games in 2009. Image & Form is best known for its SteamWorld series, which had its latest release in April 2019 with SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech .
On January 25, 2018, Image & Form announced that they, together with Zoink , another Gothenburg studio, have founded a new parent company called Thunderful and a new sister company called Thunderful Publishing, which will help the studios with the publication of assignments and also to third-party providers -Games other developers will look for. Image & Form is still an independent company and will continue to develop its own games in the SteamWorld franchise.
