Images - The Best Of Jean Michel Jarre is a compilation by the French musician Jean Michel Jarre and contains titles from several previous works as well as new compositions. It can also be seen as a form of the concept album , as Jarre shortened some well-known tracks, revised them and re-edited them together with the new tracks as a continuous audio experience. It is Jarre's thirteenth music album, which was released in two versions in 1991 and in a third version in 1997.
Versions
The album was already offered in two versions when it was released. One version that was distributed in France and another for Europe and the rest of the world, the difference being just one title. While the French edition features zoo ecology for title 8 , the European version chose the London Kid . In 1997 a remastered edition followed and now both songs as well as the pieces Wooloomooloo and Blah Blah Café were on the album.
Pieces of music not yet released on an album include Eldorado and Globe Trotter . They are compositions that Jarre wanted to play at a concert near the pyramids of Teotihuacán in Mexico for the solar eclipse of July 11, 1991 . Unfortunately, this concert could not take place because a ship that transported important parts of the stage sank in the ocean. The title Moon Machine was played in Lyon in 1986 at the mega concert in honor of the Pope's visit .
