Chronology (later versions also under the English title Chronology ) is an instrumental music album by the French musician Jean Michel Jarre . It was published in May 1993 by Disques Dreyfus in France and Polydor in the rest of the world. Chronology is Jarre's eleventh studio album. Inspired by the book A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking were Chronology Part 4 and Chronology Part 5 originally designed for Swatch composed as promotional music until Jarre to decided to publish both pieces as part of a completely new album. Similar to his previous album Waiting for Cousteau , Chronologie debuted at number 11 in the UK charts.
