Immacolata Concezione di Maria a Grottarossa is a titular church in Rome , Grottarossa, Via Flaminia .
history
It was built in 1935 by Ettore Molinario to provide pastoral care for the immigrant workers from northern and central Italy. On June 4, 1937 the parish was founded. It is located on Via Flaminia, "ad Saxa Rubra", where in 312 a historic battle between Constantine I and Maxentius took place. On November 2nd, 1986 Pope John Paul II visited her . Here he crowned a picture of the Immaculate Conception .
On May 5, 1985 she was elevated to the title church with the papal bull Purpuratis Patribus . In 1985 Henryk Roman Gulbinowicz was appointed the first and so far only cardinal priest.
