Certificate of enrollment

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A certificate of registration or certificate of study serves students in addition to the student card as proof of their enrollment at a university . The certificate is usually valid for one semester or trimester and is issued by the university administration. In addition to the full name, date and place of birth, the period of validity and the most important key data for the course are also given. These usually include the type of degree sought , the subject, the current semester and the standard period of study . In addition, a so-called matriculation number is noted on every matriculation certificate, a personal identifier that is unique at the respective university . The certificates are mostly generated by machine and do not have a signature. Many universities therefore now offer the option of verification via the Internet. The certificate also contains a unique verification number for each student.

The students often receive several copies of the enrollment certificate, which differ in their level of detail, in order to be able to submit them to different locations as proof of study. As an alternative to this, many universities today also offer the option of downloading the document, usually as a PDF file.
