history

The roots of today's Immeo Group lie in the company housing construction of Krupp (1861: 2 apartment buildings in Brücken- / Hügelstrasse in Essen-West), Hoesch (1872: 48 workers' apartments in Dortmund-Oesterholz) and Thyssen (1880: 10 2 -Family houses in the Klosterstrasse / An der Abbey in Duisburg-Hamborn) first-time built company apartments for the workers and employees of the industrialists August Thyssen , Alfred Krupp and Leopold Hoesch .

In 1998 the companies Thyssen and Krupp merged. As the lead company, ThyssenKrupp Immobilien GmbH steered the newly established group of companies with the residential real estate, real estate management, real estate development and real estate consulting divisions.

After leaving the ThyssenKrupp group in 2004 and selling it to the Morgan Stanley consortium and the Corpus Immobiliengruppe , the housing company was renamed "Immeo".

In 2006 the French real estate group Foncière des Régions took over Immeo.

The group, which has since been converted into Immeo SE, has been acquiring properties in Berlin, Potsdam, Dresden, Leipzig and Hamburg since 2011. Currently around 60% of the stock is in these new locations.

The conversion to an SE (Societas Europea, legal form for stock corporations in the European Union) and the French shareholders of the Immeo Group are an expression of the European orientation, which is now also reflected in the real estate sector.

On June 1, 2018, Immeo merged with the Foncière des Régions under the name Covivio .
