Imos CAD / CAM
imos CAD / CAM is a 3D CAD / CAM software for furniture and interior design. Imos has been developed by imos AG from Herford since 1993 . Sales are carried out worldwide through our own locations in Herford, Stuttgart and Cornedo Vicentino (Italy) as well as through international sales partners. The software is available in 16 languages and is used by over 3,000 producers.

imos CAD / CAM is specially tailored to the requirements of wood processors. The software is used internationally primarily by kitchen manufacturers, furniture and interior designers, office furniture manufacturers and shopfitters.
The core of the imos software is a continuous data flow that connects the construction of furniture and interior fittings including fittings from the furniture supplier to a continuous process from internet-based room planning and order entry through calculation to the control of current CNC machines. The imos solution has a modular structure and distinguishes between four main modules: CAD, CAM, NET and 360 take on different areas of responsibility in the company. In this way, orders can be processed consistently from sales (imos NET) to the machine (imos CAM). The furniture catalogs are based on the parametric 3D CAD data that arise directly from the construction of the furniture (imos CAD). The material and fittings can be selected from the furniture suppliers' online catalogs (iFurn online). The finished 3D constructions can be projected into real rooms on the smartphone or tablet PC using "Augmented Reality" technology (imos 360). All four product areas are seamlessly linked to one another and thus result in an integrated solution for industry and trade.
Industry sectors
The software can be used in industry or in trade. The majority of customers are made up of kitchen manufacturers, shop and interior fitters, property fitters and classic furniture makers. The imos CAD / CAM software is also used as a teaching aid for professional and academic courses. She is currently working, for example, at the HAWK Hochschule Hildesheim , the Hochschule Rosenheim , the Fachschule Melle or the technical college in Kaiserslautern.
Cooperation with furniture suppliers
A special feature of the imos software is that real data from well-known furniture suppliers can be accessed during the construction and the corresponding fittings, hinges or profiles can be used directly in the construction. This data is continuously updated and made available to imos by the manufacturers. Data from blum , Egger , Grass , Häfele , Hettich , Lamello, Rehau , Westag & Getalit , wodego and ZEG are currently available.
