The Improtheater Emscherblut is an improvisational theater group from Dortmund that has existed since 1989.
She organized the 1st German championship in theater sport for improvisational theater groups. Since then, Dortmund has also been the headquarters of the Improliga . The home venues of the Emscherblut improv theater are the Fritz-Henßler-Haus and the Fletch Bizzel theater .
At the same time, there has been a lively international exchange since it was founded in 1989 - initially with Danish and Dutch groups, and later with France, Great Britain and the USA. In 1999 they organized the 1st European Championship with eight European teams. In 2006, the 2006 World Theater Sports Championship was organized in the Ruhr area.
