in & phone SA was a Swiss mobile operator based in Vevey .

The company owned a license for the operation of a since December 18, 2003 GSM - mobile network in Switzerland. In & phone has been active in the Swiss mobile communications market since June 2005 . The telecommunications company only offered wireless services for business customers. In & phone's headquarters were in Vevey ; further branches were located in Bern and Zurich .

On March 1, 2012, the company was declared bankrupt. The concession expired at the end of 2013.

Company history

  • October 2003: in & phone is founded by Intelcom Holding. The core business of the new company will be GSM services for business customers. in & phone then applies for one of the two advertised GSM licenses.
  • December 18, 2003: in & phone receives a license for the operation of a GSM cellular network from the Federal Communications Commission (ComCom).
  • June 2005: in & phone enters the market
  • January 16, 2006: in & phone signs a roaming agreement with the Swiss network operator Sunrise Communications , which from now on enables in & phone customers to use the sunrise mobile network nationwide.

The mobile network

in & phone had 29 channels in the DCS 1800 frequency band . The own network used the network code 228-07 and served the local indoor and outdoor supply of building complexes and company premises. The mobile radio technology came from Siemens Communications , which was also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the system. Outside of their own network, in & phone customers were able to use the Sunrise Communications mobile network thanks to a roaming agreement . The change between the two networks took place automatically. The network code for in & phone assigned by the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) was 0773 (international: +41773).
