InBetween is a play by Barbara Marković from 2014 that was developed on behalf of and according to the specifications of Emel Heinreich / Verein Cocon-Kultur.
The piece
The piece was presented at the Ethos Uluslararası Tiyatro Festivali in Ankara as part of the focus “50 Years of the Turkey-Austria Recruitment Agreement” . The director was the Turkish-born Austrian director Emel Heinreich . The play is played in two languages ( German and Turkish ), with three actors and three different endings. The search for one's own identity, the search for a home in one's own body in various political systems, the crossing of national borders, but also the crossing of gender boundaries, can be experienced by the viewer through the depiction of the entry of a transgender refugee into another country .
performance
After the world premiere in March 2014 in Ankara, the piece was also shown in Istanbul and Diyarbakir ; the Austrian premiere took place in Werk-X .
