The Incheon Sungeui Stadium was a football stadium in the South Korean city of Incheon , Michulho-Gu . The stadium was built in 1936. The stadium's name is derived from Sungeui Street, where the stadium used to stand.
The stadium was first used by the Yukong Elephants as their home ground between 1987 and 1990 and then stood empty for almost thirteen years. In 2003 it was used again. The third division club Incheon Korail FC was the new main user . At the end of 2007, the club moved out of the stadium.
Since the Incheon Munhak Stadium was too big for Incheon United , the city decided to demolish the Sungeui Stadium in favor of a new stadium. Demolition work began on June 13, 2008. After the construction work was completed, the new Incheon football stadium was built instead .
