Inch pedal

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

With the inching pedal is in hydrostatic drives a separation of the travel drive of conveying and lifting drives achieved. This pedal, which can be operated with the left foot, ensures that slow maneuvering trips (e.g. with forklifts or wheel loaders) are possible with high loading power.

background

In machines with hydrostatic drive, the hydraulic system supplies the entire on-board hydraulics. The performance is therefore dependent on the speed of the drive motor. In order to be able to operate the different areas such as travel and lifting elements with different powers, the inch pedal is pressed. The oil flow to the hydraulic motor on the drive axle is reduced, which in turn reduces the driving speed. The rest of the hydraulic system (e.g. the hoist) continues to be supplied with full hydraulic power.
