Indates
Indates (name also passed down as Sindas ) was a Parthian general ( Strategos ) who was in office under Phraates II (138 to 128 BC) and who opposed the army of the Seleucid king Antiochus VII (138 BC to 129 BC) fought. Under the predecessors of Antiochus VII, large parts of the Seleucid Empire were lost to the Parthians. In a short time they had conquered Mesopotamia and parts of Iran . 131 BC BC Antiochus VII set out with a large army to recapture these areas. In the summer of 131 BC There was a first battle on Lycus , on the Parthian side of which Indates led the army and lost to the Seleucids. Nothing is known about his further fate.
