Indaw is a city in northern Myanmar in the Sagaing region . It is located about 2 km southeast of Lake Indaw. The Naba Junction railway junction at Naba is about 6 km northeast of the city.

On December 15, 1944, a jeep engine laid telephone cables on the route from Pinwe to Naba Junction
During the Second World War in 1944, during the so-called Burma Campaign, there were military clashes between the Japanese and British armed forces . The Japanese held two airfields at Indaw, the 'Indaw West Strip' and the 'Indaw Lake Strip'.
