India Art Fair

The India Art Fair is a fair for modern and contemporary art in New Delhi , India, founded in 2008 as India Art Summit by Neha Kirpal .

In September 2016, MCH Schweiz Messe Schweiz (Basel) AG, a company of the MCH Group , acquired 60.3 percent of the shares in Seventh Plane Pvt. Ltd in New Delhi, organizer of the India Art Fair. With the participation of the MCH Group and the participation of Angus Montgomery Ltd. (29.7%) and the founder and director Neha Kirpal (10%), the ninth edition of the India Art Fair will take place from February 2nd to 5th, 2017 under a new ownership structure. Neha Kirpal has not been involved since 2018, but Jagdip Jagpal became the exhibition director.

In 2013, 3000 works from 105 galleries in 24 countries were on view.

The first four fairs, the India Art Summits in January 2008, August 2009 and January 2011, and the India Art Fair in January 2012 were attended by a total of 260,000 visitors. The India Art Summit 2011 had 128,000 visitors. The Indian Art Fair was the most popular art fair in Asia in 2011. As usual, the eighth fair took place at the end of January in 2016.
