The plant in 2005

Indian Wells Tennis Garden is a tennis complex in Indian Wells in the Coachella Valley , United States . It was completed in March 2008. The main stadium, Stadium 1, has a capacity of 16,100 and is the second largest tennis court in the world. In 2009 the plant was taken over by Larry Ellison and then expanded. The second largest square, Stadium 2, offers 8,000 seats and was opened in March 2014. The facility has a total of 29 hard courts, including 23 with floodlights.

The facility is the venue for the Indian Wells Masters , a tennis tournament in the Masters 1000 category of the men's ATP World Tour , the WTA Indian Wells , a tennis tournament in the premier mandatory category of the WTA Tour for women and, since 2018, the newly created one Oracle Challenger Series, these are the ATP Challenger Indian Wells and the WTA Challenger Indian Wells . Art and music festivals are also held on the site.
