Indicator Island (from English indicator 'Anzeiger, Kennzeichen, Indicator' ) is a 160 m long island off the Graham coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . In the group of the Argentine Islands of the Wilhelm Archipelago , it is 160 m northwest of the Galíndez Island .
Participants in the British Graham Land Expedition (1934–1937), led by the Australian polar explorer John Rymill, discovered and named the island in 1935. It was named after a flagpole erected here with a wind sock that indicated the prevailing wind direction to the aircraft carried on this research trip .
