Industrial building at the Wehrhahn after the renovation

The Industriehaus Düsseldorf (also Industriehaus Am Wehrhahn ) is a listed office and commercial building in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort , Schirmerstrasse 80 / Am Wehrhahn.

The house was built on behalf of the “Düsseldorfer Bürohausgesellschaft” according to designs by the architects Tietmann & Haake from October 1921 onwards and, according to the building regulations at the time, was a high-rise building for which a special permit was required. When moving in in July 1923, the seven-storey building contained around 3000 square meters of office space, 500 square meters of retail space, 1000 square meters of basement space and was inhabited by more than 30 tenants.

The tufa cladding of the base zone with the figuratively and ornamentally decorated pillars ends in a sturdy cornice , the plastered façade of the upper storeys, which is horizontally structured by cornices, ends in a kind of crenellated wreath of circular segment arches on consoles .
