Ferocactus emoryi is a species of the genus Ferocactus in the cactus family(Cactaceae). English common names are "Emory's Barrel Kaktus" and "Traveller's Friend".

Ferocactus emoryi grows individually with spherical to cylindrical, light green to glaucous green shoots and reaches heights of up to 2.5 meters with diameters of 1 meter. There are 15 to 30, sometimes more, ribs that are clearly tubercular in the youthful stage. The thorns are whitish to reddish in color. The single, very strong central spine is flattened, straight, curved or hooked and becomes 4 to 10 centimeters long. The seven to nine radial spines reach a length of up to 6 centimeters.
The broad, funnel-shaped flowers are mahogany, red, red with yellow or yellow. They reach a length of up to 7.5 centimeters and have a diameter of 5 to 7 centimeters. The obovate to oblong fruits are up to 5 centimeters long and do not tear open with a basal pore.
Distribution, systematics and endangerment
Ferocactus emoryi is distributed in the United States in the state of Arizona and in the Mexican states of Sonora , Sinaloa, and Baja California Sur .
The first description as Echinocactus emoryi was in 1848 by George Engelmann . Charles Russell Orcutt placed them in the genus Ferocactus in 1926 .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
