Industrial minute

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In time recording systems of industrial hours worked can decimal are displayed so as 8.75 hours instead of 8 hours and 45 minutes . This form of decimal time is primarily intended to facilitate the data management of working times. In this context, the term industrial minute is occasionally used (also in the BGB) , which denotes a hundredth of an hour, an industrial minute thus corresponds to 36 seconds. One hundredth of an industrial minute is called an industrial second . The representation of hours in decimal format leads to the industrial hour. The normal time representation (minute: second) is often referred to in these systems as real minute , normal minute or time minute . Industrial minutes must not be confused with the time unit hundredths of a minute (HM) in work studies .

The following applies:

  • 1 hour = 1.00 h = 100 industrial minutes
  • 8 hours 45 minutes = 8.75 h = 875 industrial minutes = 87,500 industrial seconds

Working times are usually rounded to the industrial minute so that they can be saved as whole-numbered industrial minutes.

If you want to convert a time or time span in normal representation into industrial representation, the following applies:

  • Ih = hr + min / 60 + sec / 3600

example

The conversion of 8 hours and 45 minutes or 8:45 leads with this formula

at a value of 8.75 industry hours.
