Prefere Melamines is a medium-sized chemical company in Fechenheim , in the legal form of a GmbH. The company produces melamine resins at two production sites in Fechenheim and Springfield MA / USA . history
In the 1940s, the two companies Cassella (in Frankfurt) and Monsanto (in Springfield / USA) began producing melamine synthetic resins from formaldehyde , melamine and urea .
In 1995 Hoechst outsourced its branched synthetic resin business (GB G) as Vianova Resins GmbH . The melamine resin business with production sites in Fechenheim and Springfield was acquired in 1998 by an investment bank consortium (Deutsche Bank and Morgan Grenfell Equity Partners), in 2000 by Solutia , in 2002 by UCB (Union Chimique Belge) and in 2005 by the INEOS Group as the newly founded INEOS Melamines GmbH. The site was last handed over to the Prefere Resins Group in July 2019.
Products
The company produces resins for further processing. These resins are u. a. Varnishes, coatings for laminate floors, waterproof coatings for paper and crosslinkers for rubbers.

Ineos Melamines has a quality and environmental management system according to DIN ISO EN 9001 and 14001, certified by TÜV Austria .
