Ines Abassi

Ines Abassi ( Arabic إيناس العباسي; born 1982) is a Tunisian writer known for her poetry , children's books and novels , she writes in Arabic . She also works as a literary translator . Ines Abassi's texts have been translated and published into English , French , Korean , Danish and Swedish .

Ines Abassi became known for her poetry books Secrets of the Wind (2004) and Archive of the Blind (2007), both of which have won national prizes. She took part in numerous literary festivals, including in Oman, Jordan and Korea. In Korea she spent a scholarship stay. The short story volume Tales of Korean Shahrazad , which was published in Lebanon, emerged from the experiences of this stay . Korean culture, society, history and daily life are portrayed in the narratives. She is currently working as a journalist in the United Arab Emirates .
