Luky (Ukrainian Луки ; Russian Луки / Luki , Polish Koniuszki Siemianowskie ) is a village in the Ukrainian Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine with about 900 inhabitants.
The village is located in the west of the historical landscape of Galicia in Sambir district on the Strywihor River (Стривігор), about 18 kilometers northeast of the Sambir district center and 52 kilometers southwest of the Lviv oblast center.
On August 9, 2015, the village became the center of the newly established rural community Luky (Луківська сільська громада / Lukiwska silska hromada ), this includes also the 6 villages Kupnowytschi , Nyschnje (Нижнє) Ostriw (Острів) Tschernychiw (Чернихів) Sahirja (Загір'я) and Vankowytschi (Ваньковичі), until then it formed the district council of Luky with Ostriw , Tschernychiw and Sahirja .
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1443, was initially in the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania , Ruthenian Voivodeship , and came in 1772 as Conjusky to the then Austrian crown land of Galicia (until 1918 in the Rudki district ).
After the end of the First World War he came to Poland , was here from 1921 as Koniuszki Siemianowskie in the voivodeship Lemberg , Powiat Rudki , Gmina Koniuszki Siemianowskie and was only occupied by the Soviet Union and from 1941 to 1944 by Germany and the district during World War II Galicia attached. After being reconquered by Soviet troops in 1944, it came back to the Soviet Union in 1945 and was incorporated into the Ukrainian SSR , since 1991 the place has been part of today's Ukraine. Until 1960 the place had the Ukrainian name Konjuschky-Semeniwski (Конюшки-Семенівські).
