Rudki district
The Rudki district was a political district in the crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria . Its territory included parts of eastern Galicia in today's Western Ukraine ( Lviv Oblast , Raion Sambir , Rajon_Horodok , Mykolaiv Raion and Mostyska Raion ), seat of the district administration was the city Rudki . After the First World War , Austria had to cede the entire district to Poland .
It bordered on the north by the district Gródek Jagielloński , in the northeast on the district Lviv , in the southeast of the district Żydaczów , the south by the district Drohobych , on the southwest by the district Sambor and in the northwest on the district Mościska .
history
After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.
The new political district Rudki was formed from the following districts:
- Komarno district (with 38 municipalities)
- Rudki district (with 35 municipalities)
- Parts of the Sambor District ( Brzegi , Burczyce , Mistkowice and Zarajsko municipalities )
- Parts of the Sądowa Wisznia district ( Michajłowice and Jaremków municipalities )
The Rudki district consisted of 74 communities and 56 manor areas at the 1910 census and covered an area of 675 km². In 1900 the population had still comprised 68,348 people, in 1910 77,269 people lived here. The majority of the population lived in the area with Ruthenian colloquial language (60%) and the Greek Catholic faith, with Jews making up around 8% of the population.
