Tarnobrzeg district
The Tarnobrzeg district was a political district in the crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria of Austria-Hungary . It was the northernmost district of Galicia and included parts of western Galicia in what is now Poland ( Powiat Tarnobrzeg ). The seat of the district administration was the Tarnobrzeg market . After the First World War , Austria had to cede the entire district to Poland ; large parts of this can be found today in the Powiat Tarnobrzeski .
The district Tarnobrzeg bordered to the north by the Russian Empire in the southeast of the district Nisko , on the south by the district Kolbuszowa and on the southwest by the district Mielec .
history
After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.
The new political district Tarnobrzeg was formed from the following districts:
- Rozwadów district (with 40 municipalities)
- Parts of the Tarnobrzeg district (with 28 municipalities)
- Parts of the Nisko district (Pławo municipality)
- Parts of the Mielec district (municipalities Markt Baranów, Koło and Przewóz, Dmytrów Mały, Dmytrów Wielki, Gołegowola, Nagnajow, Siedleszczany, Skopanie and Suchorzew)
The Tarnobrzeg district consisted of 87 municipalities and 36 manor areas at the 1910 census and covered an area of 956 km². In 1900 the population was 74,088, in 1910 77,360 people lived here. The majority of the population lived in the area with a Polish slang (98.8%) and Roman Catholic beliefs, while Jews made up around 11% of the population.
