Nadwórna district
The Nadwórna district was a political district in the crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria . Its area covered parts of eastern Galicia in what is now western Ukraine ( Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast , Nadwirna district and parts of Kolomyja district ), the seat of the district administration was the place Nadwórna . After the First World War , Austria had to cede the entire district to Poland .
It bordered on the north by the district Stanislau , in the northeast on the district Tłumacz , on the east by the district Kolomea and District Peczenizyn , the south by the district Kosów , in the southwest of the Kingdom of Hungary and in the northwest on the district Bohorodczany .
history
A forerunner of the later district (administrative and judicial authority at the same time) was created at the end of 1850, the Nadworna district authority was subordinate to the Stanislau government area and comprised the following judicial districts:
- Nadworna judicial district
- Delatyn Judicial District
- Sołotwina judicial district
After the announcement in 1854, the Nadworna District Office (still responsible for administration and jurisdiction) within the Stanislau district was established on September 29, 1855 .
After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.
The new political district Nadwórna was formed from the following districts:
- Nadwórna district (with 17 municipalities)
- Delatyn district (with 27 parishes)
The Nadwórna district consisted of 51 municipalities and 17 manor areas at the 1910 census and covered an area of 1918 km². In 1900 the population was 79,116; in 1910, 90,663 people lived here. The majority of the population lived in the area with Ruthenian colloquial language (73%) and the Greek Catholic faith, while Jews made up around 13% of the population.
