The Nadwirna Raion (Ukrainian Надвірнянський район / Nadwirnjanskyj rajon ; Russian Надворнянский район / Nadwornjanski rajon ) is a Rajon in the Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast in western Ukraine . The center of the Rajons is the city of Nadvirna .
geography
The district is bordered by Bohorodchany district in the northwest , Tysmenytsia district in the northeast , Kolomyja district in the east, Kosiv district in the southeast , Verkhovyna district in the south, and Rakhiv district in the southwest (in Zakarpattia Oblast ) and in the west to the Tyachiv Rajon ( Zakarpattia Oblast). It stretches from the foot of the Forest Carpathians to its mountain ranges Tschornohora and Gorgany , is flowed through by the Prut and the Bystryzja Nadwirnjanska (Бистриця Надвірнянська) and their tributaries, resulting in altitudes between 300 and 2000 meters.
history
The Rajon was founded on January 17, 1940 after the annexation of Eastern Poland by the Soviet Union , then came after the beginning of the German-Soviet War in June 1941 in the Generalgouvernement in the district of Galicia and after the reconquest by the Red Army in 1944 back to the Soviet Union Ukrainian SSR . On December 30, 1962, the Rajon itself was finally dissolved and attached to Bohorodchany Rajon. On January 4th, 1965, the Rajon was rebuilt and has existed since then in its current dimensions, since 1991 it has been part of today's Ukraine.
Administrative structure
At the communal level, the Rajon is subdivided into 1 urban municipality, 1 settlement council municipality, 2 settlement councils, 17 district councils and 1 rural municipality, each of which is subordinate to individual localities. In 2018, the former Sadschawka district council became part of the Kolomyja municipality .
