Lantschyn (Ukrainian Ланчин ; Russian Ланчин / Lantschin , Polish Łanczyn ) is an urban-type settlement in western Ukraine about 60 kilometers south of the Oblast capital Ivano-Frankivsk and 18 kilometers southeast of the Rajons capital Nadvirna on the Prut River.
On 31 July 2017, the village became the center of the newly established settlement community Lantschyn (Ланчинська селищна громада / Lantschynska selyschtschna hromada ) to this are also the four villages Dobrotiw (Добротів) Hlynky (Глинки) Serednij Majdan and Wyschniwzi (Вишнівці) until then it formed the settlement council of the same name.
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1050, received Magdeburg town charter in 1602 and belonged to Austrian Galicia from 1772 to 1918 under its Polish name Łanczyn . After the end of the First World War, the place came to Poland and was here from 1921 in the Stanislau Voivodeship , Powiat Nadwórna. With the beginning of the Second World War, the place was first occupied by the Soviet Union and from 1941 to 1944 by Germany , which incorporated the place into the district of Galicia .
In 1945 the place came again to the Soviet Union , there it became part of the Ukrainian SSR and has been part of today's Ukraine since 1991. The place now called Lantschin / Lantschyn received the status of an urban-type settlement during the Soviet period in 1940.
