Since 1349 it belonged to Poland-Lithuania (in the Ruthenian Voivodeship ), in 1525 Magdeburg law was introduced. After the first partition of Poland in 1772, Dolyna fell to Austria , from 1850 it was the seat of the Dolina District Commission , after the end of the First World War in 1919 to Poland and from 1921 it was in the Stanislau voivodeship . Shortly after the beginning of the Second World War , Dolyna fell to the Ukrainian Soviet Republic in 1939 - in the same year the place was declared a city. In the 1930s there was increased activity in the region by the Ukrainian nationalist movement OUN under Stepan Bandera . After the German invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941, Dolyna was occupied by the Germans until 1944 and then fell back to the Soviet Union.
