Tatariv ( Ukrainian Татарів ; Russian Татаров Tatarow , Polish Tatarów ) is a village in the western Ukrainian Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast with about 1500 inhabitants (2004).
The village, first mentioned in writing in 1671, is the only place in the district council of the same name , which administratively belongs to the urban district of the city of Yaremche . After 1945 the place was renamed Kreminzi (Кремінці) and did not get its current name back until June 11, 2003.
Tatariv is a health resort whose air is said to be beneficial for asthma and bronchitis. In the village there is the listed church of St. Dmytro from the 18th century.
Geographical location
Tatariv is located in the forest Carpathians in the valley of the Prut between 684 m and 750 m altitude. The regional road P-24 begins in the village . In addition, the national trunk road N 09 runs through Tatariv , which leads to the southwest via Yablunyzja to the nearby Jablunyzkyj Pass and north to Yaremche, 26 km away, and then to Ivano-Frankivsk , 86 km away, the oblast capital . The village has a train station on the Sighetu Marmației – Ivano-Frankivsk railway line , built in the 1890s . 15 km west of Tatariv is the mountain village Polyanytsya with the winter sports - Resort Bukovel , the largest and most modern ski resort of Ukraine .
