Bukovel ( Ukrainian Буковель , Polish Bukovel ) is a Ukrainian winter sports - Resort in Gorgany , a mountain range of the Eastern Carpathians .

The resort is located at an altitude of 920  m in the municipality of the village Polyanyzja in the urban district of Yaremche in the western Ukrainian Oblast Ivano-Frankivsk near the border with the Zakarpattia Oblast .

Bukovel has 61 ski slopes , including 12 blue slopes, 41 red slopes and 9 black slopes. The longest slope is 5G with 2106 meters. There are 14 ski lifts , of which 11 × 4 person chair lifts, one 3 person chair lift and others with a total capacity of 30,000 people per hour.

The ski resort hotel had only 206,000 overnight stays in the winter of 2005/2006, in the 2007/2008 season it had 850,000 overnight stays.

The name is derived from a mountain of the same name. The highest mountain in the ski area is the 1371  m high Dowha .
