history

A forerunner of the later district (administrative and judicial authority at the same time) was created at the end of 1850, the district authority Dobromil was subordinate to the government area of Lemberg and included the following judicial districts:

Following the announcement in 1854, on September 29, 1855, the Dobromil District Office (still responsible for administration and jurisdiction) within the Sanok District was established.

After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.

The new political district of Bircza was formed from the following districts:

On October 1, 1876, the seat of the district office was moved from Bircza to Dobromil, so the district name was also changed.
