Przemyślany district
The Przemyślany district was a political district in the crown land of Galicia and Lodomeria in Austria-Hungary . Its territory included parts of eastern Galicia in today's Western Ukraine ( Lviv Oblast , Raion Peremyshliany , Rajon Zolochiv and Busk Raion ), seat of the district administration was the market Przemyślany . In November 1918, after the collapse of the Danube Monarchy at the end of World War I, the district was briefly part of the West Ukrainian People's Republic .
It bordered on the north by the district Kamionka Strumiłowa , in the northeast on the district Zloczow , on the east by the district Zborów , in the southeast of the district Brzezany , the south by the district Rohatyn , in the southwest of the district Bóbrka and in the northwest on the district Lviv .
history
After the district offices were abolished at the end of October 1865 and their competencies were transferred to the district offices , the division of the country into two administrative areas was also abolished after the Austro-Hungarian Compromise in 1867. In addition, in the course of the separation of the political from the judicial administration, separate administrative and judicial authorities were created. While the judicial division remained largely unaffected, municipalities of several judicial districts were combined into administrative districts.
The new political district Przemyślany was formed from the following districts:
- Przemyślany District (with 39 municipalities)
- Gliniany district (with 28 municipalities)
- Parts of the Bóbrka District (Hlekowice Świrskie Communes, Świrz Market, Kopań)
- Parts of the Rohatyn district (Markt Firlejów and Kleszczowna municipalities)
The Przemyślany district consisted of 69 municipalities and 68 manor areas in the 1910 census and covered an area of 925 km². In 1900 the population had still comprised 77,238 people, in 1910 86,568 people lived here. The majority of the population lived in the area with Ruthenian colloquial language (59%) and the Greek-Catholic faith, Jews made up around 11% of the population.
